Music is an exciting and vital part of the worship experience at Jamestown Presbyterian Church. Wonderful music permeates the church with the sole purpose of inspiring worshippers to praise and glorify our Lord.

There is something for everyone whether it’s our exciting worship band, Decided, that plays for the contemporary service or the wonderful music of the traditional service which includes the chancel choir, handbell choir, brass ensemble, children’s choir and our wonderful pianist/organist.

Decided

Music at our 9:00 contemporary service is led by the band, Decided, made up of talented musicians on vocals, keyboard, guitars, bass, drums and features a dynamite horn section. Their music for worship includes a large repertoire of songs commonly heard on Christian radio stations and several original songs written by Decided’s talented song writer, Chris Henry.  God is glorified and praised in a big way with this wonderful band leading worship through music.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is a volunteer ensemble that sings at the traditional service at 11:00 on Sundays. The group is made up of people who love to sing and glorify God by lifting their voices together in song. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 and warm up on Sunday mornings at 10:30 to prepare for the service. The choir also presents two cantatas with professional instrumental accompaniment during Advent and Holy Week. All who enjoy singing are invited to be a part of this exciting and dynamic ensemble.

Handbell Choir

The JPC Handbell Choir is made up people who enjoy making music together in an ensemble requiring intense concentration and focus with one person on a part where all parts work together in a wonderfully complex fashion. If you enjoy a challenge and have some musical background you are welcome to join us either as a permanent player as positions become available or as a substitute.

Heavenly Halos

Our children’s choir, the Heavenly Halos, is made up of preschool  through elementary age children. Each year they prepare an exciting Christmas pageant complete with staging and costumes. They also sing for worship services at other times during the year such as Palm Sunday and Mother’s Day. All children are welcome and encouraged to participate.
